JJ BOND Faux Movie Poster

A former boss of mine commissioned me to do a piece highlighting some of his favorite things. When we met he gave me various, unconnected ideas that he felt all represented him and his passions. So after a few days of thought I presented him with an idea for a faux, retro movie poster. His dogs, Charles Ingalls, Victor Newman, a Tiger, Rocky Balboa, and Surfing was some of the subject matter he asked me to include. This is the first watercolor "piece" I've done since college. Goodbye Pilot EP

 

Last week, I got an email from nappy chan, a native Californian currently residing in Phoenix, AZ saying he saw something I had done for the M|O|D guys previously. He asked me if I would help him with an EP cover and I said I would gladly. It's called Goodbye Pilot. The first thing I thought of was a fighter pilot ejecting from his seat... As if it were meant to be, my blog hit 10,000 views today along side the release of DOTWAV, the latest from C.Z. and Trap Arnold of M|O|D. These guys are seriously talented and if you don't know what's up, check out their stuff at http://modmusic.co/. They're possibly the best thing to come out of Boston since Bobby Brown, so...you know... get on it and listen to them. They asked me to do their debut EP work a few months back and after a brief back and forth, this is what we have. One Talented MOMOFUKU

I was featured on momofuku's blog yesterday as part of their "Talent Show" posting, where they showcase employees who have endeavors outside of the momofuku empire. You can find the posting and check out the blog here: http://momofuku.tumblr.com/ I just left my position there to become a full time designer/illustrator and as a parting gift I made T-shirts (like the one you see above) that looked like ticket orders that print in the kitchen. Thanks for keeping me afloat and introducing me to NYC momofuku!

I went and saw Prometheus last night.  This doesn't have any actual context to any part of the movie specifically, but I was just feeling sort of inspired. I'll probably keep working on this one

T Rex Tat

Over the past 2 months or so I have been working on a massive project for an upcoming book release, which I will post within the next couple of weeks. I was talking to a friend of mine about the project and she mentioned that she had been interested in getting a "gator tattoo". I said I'd gladly design one as soon as I was done with the project that I was buried with at the time. When I finished the drawings I texted her this image and thought it would work as "inspiration" for a new gator piece. Before I knew it the same image was permanently tatted on her arm. Props to Veronica Treviso for the support!

Cosmo's Crave

Nearly 6 months ago I started working on my first children's book project for Sabrina Panfilo and the publishing company I work at. The author wanted these book to be part of one board book, which took much longer to produce than a regular black and white without bleeds. I will provide links to where you can buy it as soon as they are available! Thanks Sabrina for supporting me on this project!

Movie Poster

I've been working with a friend of mine on his short film project for the passed couple of months now and he eventually asked me to do a poster for him. The film should be out within the next couple of weeks. The top is the final ink, middle is final pencil, bottom is conceptual sketch. After about four tries (starting over from scratch $&#@^&#$%&^$#%!!!!!!!!!!!) I finally got the likeness of the main character. Had a lot of fun with this one. I'll post the fully laid out version with text and everything once the movie is released. Have a look.

Stimulating Learning Environment Illustration

This is for an upcoming text book. It will be a full page spread that is supposed to portray a classroom that encourages young children to be enthusiastic about learning. I was given a few similar illustrations to copy. This is the first time I've used axonometric perspective. Not really sure I have it down yet but this was a very fun project.
